It's A Whole Lot Of Country and A Whole Lot Of Rock and Roll

I got a text from my son this morning with the question -
Son - "Did you see the CMT Music Awards last week?"
Me - "No - What did I miss?"
Son - "It was a reallly good show with good performances but I was curious if you saw the end with Journey and Rascal Flatts."

This boy knows his Mama.  I rarely miss the CMT Awards and don't know how I did this time.  And I rarely miss anything that is Journey or Rascal Flatts; love them both.  So how on earth did I miss this and why haven't I hear about it before now?  This was just the perfect combination of Country and Rock and Roll.

I think back to the 80's when I was going to Journey, Alabama, Cheap Trick and Marshall Tucker concerts (to name only a few) and country music was just getting to that rockin' stage.  This performance was only a dream back then.
Rascal Flatts started out with this cutie banjo player named Ashley Campbell, and rocked the stage in their typical style, then brought out Journey.  Didn't know if I should get off the couch and put on my boots or just get out the lighter to watch this clip.
No words can beat the video - watch here

Thanks to CMT.com, you can watch this great combination.  Over and over if you like.

Back to the banjo player - just in case you are interested, Ashley Campbell is the daughter of famous country singer Glen Campbell.
